One of a kind abstract paintings
by artist Sonia Raymond

"Add a little soul to your home"

About Sonia image
"the action of creating allows my soul to sing so that others can hear the music"

Sonia’s journey into abstract painting began three years ago, born from a deeply personal chapter of her life. It was a time when she felt unseen, unheard, and unvalued. A time when the world seemed to render her invisible, creating a profound disconnect not only from those around her but also from herself. Seeking healing, she took a step back from her demanding role as a child protection officer at a high school, carving out space for self-understanding, self-acceptance and self-love

In this quiet, uncertain period, Sonia felt an undeniable pull to paint. To create. It was as though the canvas called her home, offering a sanctuary where she could pour her pain, confusion, and emotions freely and unapologetically. As she surrendered to this process, she discovered a deep alignment with her spiritual guidance and intuition, which elevated her awareness to new heights.

Each of her paintings weaves a story, a fragment of her journey, brought to life through bold colors, expressive mark-making, and elements of subtle textures. Her paintings are raw, authentic expressions of her inner world. Her soul speaking directly to you, inviting you to listen without words. Sonia’s work exists in the space between mystical illusion and the deep human need for connection. Her inspiration flows from her spiritual journey, driven by a desire to awaken others to the understanding that we are so much more than flesh and bone.

She explains it best herself:
"We are spiritual beings having a human experience—not the other way around. We hold the power to create and shape our own reality, and art can guide us on that path."

Through her work, Sonia challenges you to look beyond the physical and dive into the metaphysical. Her paintings reach into your soul, reminding you of who you truly are and why you are here. They whisper that you are seen, you are valued, and you are worthy. She believes it is your birth right to feel deeply connected to humanity and to live a life of happiness, peace, and purpose.

Her paintings are an invitation, a journey into curiosity and self-discovery. What you see and feel in them is unique to you and you alone. She encourages you to take notice when a particular piece resonates. That connection is no coincidence; it’s a spark that can bring light and joy into your life.

Sonia’s creative foundation was built at art college, where she studied fashion design, illustration, textiles, and art history, earning both a B.T.E.C. diploma and H.N.D. upon graduation. Today, her art is more than a craft; it’s a profound reflection of her being and a gift to those who experience it.

I create to connect with my soul and all of who I am and for you to connect with you. For you to be able to remove the fog around your own worthiness and to know you have value in this world. Trust that you are seen, you are heard and you belong.

Hi Sonia! Thank you so much for my wonderful piece of original art. Wow! It's fantastic. I feel so honoured to have you paint something personal to me. I will treasure it. I don't usually see things in your art straight away because I feel them instead. However, I saw a butterfly straight away and I saw you. Thank you so much!

Suzy Maskell, UK

When the universe aligns, wonderful things happen. I fell in love with this piece of art by my wonderful talented friend Sonia. At the time, it was my hope and dream to own it. Fast forward to the present day, and now this painting looks amazing on my lounge wall. This piece is called Salvation. I love it! Thank you!

Carol Smith, UK

As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted it and knew exactly where I was going to hang it. I absolutely love it and it looks perfect. People who come into my house always comment on it as it goes so well with my fireplace. I just love it!

Please read the most common asked questions below.

Q. Can I pay for my painting by instalments?
A. Payment by instalments is not currently an option at check out. But I'm happy to consider this in order for you to get the painting you love. Please contact me by clicking the "Let's Connect" button on my homepage to let me know this is something you would like and we can discuss an arrangement that works best for both parties. You can also email me direct if you prefer at sonia.artofthesoul@gmail.com.

Q. When will I get my painting?
A. All artwork is dispatched within 14 days and on receipt of cleared payment. Please allow up to 21 days delivery in the UK. For international shipping, time frame is estimated and will vary depending on destination. Please note: Additional EU and international fees, including sales tax, may apply. You will be notified of any additional costs If I am aware of this before delivery.

Q. How do I care for my painting?
A. Luckily there isn't a great deal you have to do to ensure longevity of your painting. I advise you handle with care while hanging and avoid hanging any artwork in direct sunlight due to the fading effect of the sun. And a feather duster does wonders to get rid of any built up dust over the years. The loving connected energy between you and your painting will ensure it lives a happy long life.

Q. Do you provide a certificate of authentication?
A. Yes I do. I provide certificates with all originals and prints. Certificates for original paintings will state the title of the painting, the year it was painted, my name and signature. Originals also have this information on the back of the canvas. Prints will be signed in the margin, bare the year painted and print number or name.

Q. How do you package your work?
A. All canvas paintings and framed prints are wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a secure custom made cardboard box. Prints without frame will be wrapped with wax paper and will either be posted flat or rolled in a tube.

Q. What happens if my painting is damaged in transit?
A. Any request for refunds will be honoured within the 14 day period as stated in my "terms and conditions". Please also refer to the Refunds and Returns Policy for your rights. It is my wish that things go as smoothly as possible and you are 100% happy. But in the face of unforeseen circumstances, please contact me using the "Let's Connect" page in the first instance so we can resolve any issues that arise.
